A return to blogging: KnowEMber
I created this blog in 2024, and the subsequent years have been a baffling flurry of work-induced haste and hesitation. Like many hobbies, I packed blogging away at the back of the top shelf of my mind's closet: the one that holds things you mostly forget about and that requires a stepladder to access.
2026 has been a year of radical transformation for me (more on that later). It's resulted in my reacquaintance with many old aspirations, quirks, and curiosities, including blogging.
So, while I've quietly lurked as a reader of Bear blogs all this time, my turn to speak has come again. What better place to start than to introduce myself by participating in Robert's Knowember Challenge.
Here goes.
Name or nickname
Emma or Em. And also Bean.
Where in the world I blog from
Cape Town, South Africa: the most beautiful city in the world (though I may be biased).
What my blog is mostly about
Since I'm new to the game, I can't say for certain. But I do anticipate writing a lot of personal reflections and using my blog as a space to ponder the meaning I ascribe to my life. Maybe I'll also share some stuff about all my adventures, other hobbies (including pottery and sewing), and a few of my film photos.
Lastly, a photo
